Job description Samsung Ad - Regional Sales Director - Chicago Samsung has developed a proprietary ad platform that leverages unique first party TV data to help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our SMART TVs. The Samsung Ad Platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory. Reporting directly to the Vice President of US Sales, the Regional Sales Director (RSD) will be a key member of the US management team and will be responsible for hiring and scaling a team, generating new business and contributing to the go to market strategy for all products and solutions within your region. The individual should have a passion for TV driven data and have a pulse for new multi-channel advertising technologies. This Sales leader must be able to think strategically, anticipate how buying decisions are made, uncover the business needs of key clients and have a proven ability to help the team close deals. Additionally, this executive will be the consummate team-player and have the ability to work collaboratively across the sales organization within a fluid and fast paced environment. Samsung is looking for both a sales leader and a sales operator with a clear execution-oriented ability to visualize, formulate strategy, and actualize results. The RSD will be a highly visible leader both inside and outside of the organization and representing our almost 80 year world class global brand. The Regional Sales Director position is based in New York with domestic US travel as needed and periodic visits to headquarters in Korea. Responsibilities:
* Setting the direction and strategy for our Chicago Ad Sales team, to provide the strategy & framework for our ongoing sales execution and business success
* Being a trusted advisor to the Head of Sales and Executive Leadership
* Primary business partner to the Head of Sales, assisting him in all facets of sales planning, budgeting, quota deployment, territory planning, and long-term planning to Achieve annual revenue targets and goals.
* Leading and managing Chicago Ad Sales team and maximizing revenue growth for the North America Sales Organization through development, implementation and ongoing improvement of sales and service programs and initiatives
* Strategic leadership and tactical ownership for designing, developing and implementing a motivating incentive compensation plan to support paying for performance and rewarding talent
* Building a thriving Sales team to implement this vision with primary ownership over the systems and processes required to enable our sales, marketing, and customer success teams to prosper
* Developing key performance metrics and dashboards that help the sales organization focus on performance drivers
* Establishing effective analysis of sales force trends and performance in an effort to identify greater efficiencies
* Leading cross functional initiatives and collaborating closely with ad operations, product, marketing, client operations, and finance
* Championing Sales to the support functions by creating the monitoring processes to hold other teams to account on deliverables committed for sales
* Recruit, train, and develop top-tier talent.
* Increase account penetration by enhancing customer relationships and training and developing the sales team.
* Negotiate and close upfront and transactional partnerships by establishing strong working relationships with media agencies, top 100 brands, and relevant industry partners.
* Become the voice of sales and enhance our current product set by informing product managers of customer and market needs.
* Manage and maintain revenue pipelines to achieve targets.
* Prepare and present territory financial performance reports
* Determine territories, sales goals, and appropriate product mix for each individual seller.
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
Required Experience:
* B.A. or B.S. degree required; MBA preferred.
* 15+ years of relevant work experiences within a major media publisher focused on advertising sales to Fortune 500 brands and media agencies
* 8+ years in sales operations leadership & management roles
* 5+ years of senior executive support & business partnering
* Relevant experience developing detailed strategic plans, revenue projections, and territory reports.
* Proven track record of driving sales growth at a major publisher.
* Business partnering and influencing skills supporting sales leadership
* Sales strategy & planning skills
* Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing managers
* Excellent analytical, business intelligence skills
* Experience scaling a mid-size company to a billion dollars in sales revenue
* Strong Executive presence and presentation skills
